A Powerful Prayer for Healing And Recovery

Try praying this prayer for healing and recovery. I came up with it using examples of people who made requests to Jesus and got them granted by Him.

You’re welcome to close your eyes and speak these words to God. I hope it lights a fire in you to use examples in the Word to pray things.

Prayer for healing and recovery

“Lord God, I bow my head before you. I ask and pray and believe and receive if you are willing, that I can be healed (Matthew 8:2). I want to receive your healing like the woman who in faith touched the hem of your Son’s garment believing it would heal her (Mark 5:28). I’m begging you like the man who begged to have the demon cast out of his son (Luke 9:38-40). You have the authority to command anything to happen just as the centurion acknowledged and had great faith (Matthew 8:8-9). If you asked what I wanted of you like your Son asked the blind men, I’d ask for healing. I know you are compassionate and willing to heal your people (Matthew 20:32-34). All glory to you forever and ever (Philippians 4:19), in the name of Jesus Christ, amen!”

For the record, there’s no guarantee you will get healing, since God does as He pleases. Some might ask, why bother praying this then? I say to that person, this will connect you deeper with God, and this will give you peace in the pain. But best case scenario, we’ll get exactly what we hoped and prayed for, and be fully healed from our ailments. So why not?

Hope this prayer for healing and recovery inspired you. Let me know how it worked for you in the comments. Look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Peace to all those who are in Christ.

  2. What does cast out the demon mean? A bad habit, nothing at all to do with one you love, as God is love, am I getting this message right?

    1. Looking at the Greek, the word for cast out is ekballo which means to eject, to drive out. Basically to remove. And the word for demon is daimonion, which basically means an evil spirit or messenger or minister of the devil.

  3. God answers my prayers, He is present, others may think not due to one happening after another that don’t bring favor, however, He always does on His time, not mine, so I stay loyal and rooted firmly in faith.
