I bet you didn’t expect me to write something again. Honestly, I didn’t expect me to write again. But I just had a burning desire and here I am. So let’s see what we can unpack on this topic of my journey with God.
As I mentioned in my last post, things changed in my focus that I didn’t think fit with the original idea of this website. The theme of most of my posts involved me writing up something from scripture that most people don’t teach. Debunking traditional church teachings that don’t seem to pass the scripture test. And the topics were usually controversial ones like “What Happens When a Christian Dies? Hint: Not Heaven” or “Is Baptism Necessary For Salvation? Yes! Please Do it!“. Both got over a 100 comments. And both I can still say I firmly believe what I wrote in those posts were 100% correct.
But as I came near the end of July, I found myself not as interested in writing topics in that framework anymore. I came to a realization. No matter how many facts we throw at people, people will fall in line with what they feel is right. And gravitate to anything in scripture that seem to support that feeling. Even if you point out the context of a verse used to support a belief, people will still go with their feeling.
I don’t say this to condemn anyone. That’s just the nature of who we are as humans. You can’t tell me you don’t believe what you believe without having some deep sense of good feeling about it. Even with what I believe, there is some feeling inside that I’ve found the factual truth. Now this isn’t to say that belief in something that aligns with a good feeling isn’t virtuous. It’s just to point out the reality. The prosperity gospel believer is not much different from the orthodox believer. They both believe what they believe in some sense because it makes them feel good.
My life is my journey with God
But to get to the point of why I’m writing again, I find myself on a renewed journey to God. I’ve spent a lot of time in prayer and just scouring through scripture. Searching how man and God connected with each other. I want to ultimately reach a place of peace and understanding. A place that sustains me through all of life’s thunderous storms. So I hope you’ll all continue along with me in this new journey. And that we all grow in sharing our collective insights with one another.
Peace to all those who are in Christ.
