John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” Perhaps no one can argue it’s been quite a fiery discussion in the comment section of “The Necessity of Baptism for Salvation” post. With over a 100 comments, there have been many agreements, many differences, and a few who can’t have a dialogue on a subject without belittling, condemning, and resorting to personal attacks. But as I try to do my best to show everyone through my respectful responses, our words to one another should always strive to reflect the kindness of love we are called to. Otherwise what makes us any more different than the rest of the world who when faced with something that inflames them with disagreement, they seek to tear down a person rather than engage in a respectful dialogue. Nonetheless, in the midst of all these comments I’ve reflected on a few common themes in the differences expressed on my baptism post worth addressing. (more…)

Hello again my fellow facttruthers. The other day I got into a very healthy and vigorous debate with a believer of the Christian faith on the necessity of baptism for salvation. I think it’s always important to encounter people who reach different conclusions to you on faith matters to further sharpen your beliefs. After debunking most of the usual points that people bring up (“baptism is a work”, “Romans 10:9”, etc.), the person decided as a last resort to throw a link of a website that he felt confident would debunk all my scriptural assertions. Being a person that’s always up for having my thinking challenged for the betterment of reaching the best understanding of my faith, I decided to read through the article. After reading through all of it, I became more firm in my belief, and decided to make a point by point post that firmly refutes all of the points in this article. (more…)

As Christians we’re always striving to seek some semblance of a closer connection with God in our daily lives. Whether it’s through our prayers, our readings of Scripture or weekly attendances at church, it’s all a means to which we try to get closer to God. One day I found myself pondering for more ways to get closer to God, and I recalled some occurrences in Scripture that I thought would be a uniquely spiritual experience to have with God someday. Perhaps after reading you may consider trying to attempt these experiences in your lifetime in an effort to have a deeper connection with God. (more…)

Lessons from Romans 6

Romans 6:3-4 “Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.” Hello fellow Scripture students. Let’s dive into some Romans 6, shall we? When we last left off in Romans 5, Paul discussed how we have eternal life through Jesus Christ, and as we continue following along in this next chapter, he details part of the process of how we’ve obtained that. He begins off by stating that in spite of grace, we should not continue in sin. Romans 6:1-2 states, “What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? 2 May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it?” (more…)

The Necessity of Baptism for Salvation (Part 2)

Last updated on October 10th, 2019

Today I thought I’d go through some more common arguments used against baptism being a necessity for salvation. I’ve already went over a few of the most common ones, which you’re welcome to read in my post titled “The Necessity of Baptism for Salvation” on my home page. It’s a very important issue given that if those who’ve deceived people into believing it’s not necessary are wrong, millions of souls hang in the balance. So in doing my part to continue to advance the true Gospel of Jesus Christ, I’m prepared to debunk any and all arguments that have no Scriptural validity. (more…)

So I’ve heard just about all of the arguments denying the necessity of baptism for salvation, and I thought I’d go through some of the most common ones. I hope if you are reading this from a position of already disagreeing with the title of this post, or perhaps you’ve never been taught this belief before, that you’ll read this with a very open mind. I’ve sincerely written this with a concerned heart for the souls that may be potentially lost from believing differently than what I’m going to present to you as truth. In the end, your decisions are all in your control and you’ll do what you think is best as we all do. (more…)

Salvation

Last updated on October 10th, 2019

The most important topic as it pertains to Christianity is salvation. It’s the central foundation of the Christian faith that all of mankind are sinners in need of the saving power of Jesus Christ, having shed his blood on the cross for all of man’s sins. Without this knowledge and realization, you have no Christians, and thus you have no Christianity. It perhaps can not be stressed anymore strongly than that, which is why is it’s extremely relevant for one to understand how to receive salvation through Christ. The difference between knowing and not knowing is the difference between a life of eternity with God and a life separated from God. There can not be any room for error when it comes to factually understanding this question of salvation, and God would not allow there to be any doubt about it for something He considered so important, the salvation of mankind, that he sent His only begotten son to die for it.
